Can Vitamin D reduce a lipoma on the face or body?

Vitamin D has been introduced as a conservative measure to help involute lipomas on the face and body. The results of this initial study should be confirmed with additional double blind studies but the first set of results of conservative Vitamin D therapy for lipomas seems promising, based on data published and collected within the National Library of Medicine database pubmed. Kare Plastic Surgery is a center for mole removal and lipoma removal in Los Angeles.

A lipoma is a very common cosmetic problem that can occur on any part of the face and body. Lipomas are fatty tumors that start to grow under the skin. They have a spontaneous growth cycle and rarely progress to a malignancy or cancer. This is a very interesting article in the National Library of Medicine database about lipomas. In this study, Vitamin D was proposed as a natural regression treatment for lipoma involution. Very interesting approach that can facilitate treatment with surgery.

At Kare Plastic Surgery and Skin Health Center in Santa Monica, we approach lipoma surgery very diligently and offer surgical options for lipomas in a luxury setting. We have an outpatient center that can facilitate the removal of lipomas using precise cosmetic surgical intervention. Our ScarFade protocol in Los Angeles can also help minimize scarring after lipoma removal. In our center, mole removal options are also available.

Understanding the ScarFade Protocol: ScarFade allows for the successful treatment of new and old scars with a combination approach that includes topical skincare creams, lasers, intralesional injections, and HIDEF scar modulation protocols. Ideal for plastic surgery scars, mole removal scars, and skin trauma. Most scars can benefit from a combination approach using the Scar Therapy Mini Kit which includes Sequel Dark Scar Corrector and Sequel Scar Defense Serum in combination.

Whether Vitamin D can cause involution, or reduction in the size of a lipoma remains to be studied further. The results of this limited study are promising and we shall continue to monitor the Library of Medicine database for more data.
